Night Shifts: Disastrous for Health

Working in night shift might be destructive for the body. Night shifts at job can cause long term damage the researchers have warned.
Night shifts have been linked to higher rate of type 2 diabetes, heart attacks and cancer.
The scientists and the researchers of the Sleep Research Center Surrey have revealed the disruption that night shifts cause. The research highlighted the damages that are caused at the deepest molecular level.
Experts said that they are astonished by the scale, speed and severity of the damage caused by the night shifts.
The basic thing is that the human body has its own natural rhythm or body clock that is naturally tuned to sleep at night and be active during the day.

Mental Health Risks of Today’s Children

Today children are continuously living “unprecedented toxic climate” in which usually skip meals to stay thin, are flooded by pornographic images and also live under continuous stress of school work a latest research has said.
A poll that has found out that 40% of 11 to 14 year olds have said that they miss for weight loss issues, while a similar number of children revealed that their relations with other children had been affected due to watching porn online.
Half of the children and young people in the poll were bullied and more than half believe that they would become a failure if they didn’t get good grades in the exams.

Felix Arroyo Targets Health Discrepancies


Felix g. Arroyo the newly appointed Boston Health and Human Services chief has said that his first priority in his new appointment would be to reduce health disparities among different racial groups and social class of the city.

“It’s really evident when you look at health statistics across our city,” Arroyo said while commenting on these disparities. He said that he wants to work to reduce these disparities.

Arroyo who was the former city councilor from Jamaica was appointed on Sunday to lead a newly designed Health and Human Services department under the leadership of the Mayor Martin Walsh. Arroyo hasn’t worked in the health care industry before.
